VEGA Venice Gateway for Science and Technologies, is the Venice City of Technology and Innovation, linking Universities, Centres of Excellence and the manufacturing sector in order to sharpen the competitive edge of the companies in the national and international markets.
Vega is the first scientific-technology park in Italy, with 200 companies and over 2000 people employed. The aim of Vega is the redevelopment of 2000 hectares of the industrial area of Porto Marghera, one of the largest in all of Europe. VEGA Park lies within the lagoon ecosystem and it is linked to the sites of Venice University, lies close to an extensive industrial zone and is right at the economic heart of the North-East of Italy extending to the metropolitan area of Regione Veneto. These are ideal conditions for fostering opportunities for trade and entrepreneurial development.
Vega Park is considered a new European model of environmental rehabilitation and it’s the first Science and Technology Park in Italy to have achieved certification of its integrated Quality-Environmental Management System, recognized at international level (ISO 9001 – ISO 14001).
