The NIS solution allows governments to build and quickly deploy at an affordable price a complete, standards-based and technologically agile infrastructure that meets their changing needs for security and identity management.
Going beyond simple secure identification and authentication functionality, the solution enables modern national identification systems to allow citizens to access e-government services and conduct secure transactions. The solution also provides citizens with improved secure and intelligent identity documents.
Built using the partner's combined expertise in national identity systems, security frameworks and public key infrastructures (PKI), the NIS can be fully integrated into the e-government framework and integrated into a nation's e-government services delivery framework. The solution encompasses all the essential national identification system attributes and functions, including:
- Online and offline enrollment of demographic and biometric data through live capture
- Local request as well as regional/central verification and registration
- Secure management of the document lifecycle
- Multi-tier architecture
- Biometric and personalization subsystem integration
- Online and offline identity verification
- Fault tolerance and disaster recovery through design
PKI Core
WISekey's CertifyID Platform solution is the core digital certificate, public key infrastructure for eID management in the NIS and the establishment of trust management framework that enable governments and organizations to ensure control over the sovereignty of the identity systems which enables citizens and other governments and organizations to trust eIDs issued and managed. Fully integrated into the Microsoft .Net Framework, the CertifyID Platform includes the creation and life-cycle management of electronic identities (eIDs) capabilities for the citizen and business services that allow eID checking and verification.

WISekey was selected by HP and Microsoft to join this Global Partnership due to its unique neutral Trust Model and ROOT technology which is must-have requirement for any country moving their national identification to eIDs.
